Those of you who have the app will probably already know that there has been quite a lot going on this week regarding copyright issues and reposting content outside of the app. For those of you who don’t know, the BTK admin posted a message requesting that nobody reposts app content anywhere else on the internet, and went as far as to say that anyone who does will be subject to a life ban from the app.
We’ve refrained from posting app content as we did have concerns that copyright might become an issue. As that has now happened, I’m afraid we won’t be able to share any of the pictures that Bill and Tom post to their app. What we will do though, is make regular text updates and let you know what’s been happening on the app as best we can, without breaking their rules.
Bill and Tom certainly seem to be having a lot of fun recently! Tom has been to two Supercross events, and said that he really loves it! Bill told fans that he accompanied Tom the second time and that he also thought it was “really cool.” They also went to see the show ‘OVO’ at the Cirque Du Soleil, which Tom said was amazing. And let’s not forget the picture of Bill holding an enormous pink gorilla that he won. Bill said their dogs immediately killed it when they got home, ha ha!
The BTK App has finally been made available in Apple stores so all the aliens with Apple devices can join the fun of the twins’ personal messenger. It has been released in some countries so far and more and more are following. Japan, New Zealand, Germany, Italy and Sweden are some of the places where the app is already available so make sure to keep checking your country’s respective Apple Store.
Please make sure to leave a rating and a review on the Apple Store site after you got the app.^^
There has also been an “Alien Chat Room” section added for aliens from around the world to chat to each other. This was done so fans can still talk to each other without “spamming” the guys’ posts because with the amount of fans joining in the fun it’s become harder for the twins to find questions/comments relating to their posts.
Have fun with the app and let us know what you think!
UPDATE # 2: The app was (partly still is) running a bit slow earlier today. An admin message was posted explaining that it was due to the amazing demand from fans who managed to crash the server.^^ Don’t worry if you’re experiencing problems at the moment. It’s getting fixed, so please just be patient. There will also be an update for the Android version of the app tomorrow or the day after.
An article on athousandguitars.com about “4 German bands you should know” lists Tokio Hotel together with Scorpions, Rammstein and Kraftwerk. The article used a picture of the band taken at the MTV EMAs in Liverpool 2008 and embedded the video for “Scream”. Great to see the guys mentioned along with those other three world-famous German bands.^^
The mention says:
Tokio Hotel Yet another subgenre spawned by traditional rock and roll is pop rock, and Tokio Hotel has it down pat. One of the youngest German bands around, it was formed in 2001. After releasing a couple of albums in their native language, Tokio Hotel came out with its first English-language album, Scream, in 2007. Rather than original material, the album consists of translations of songs from their two previous hit albums.
While their English album didn’t impress critics much, fans loved it, and Tokio Hotel won the Best New Artist award at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. They’ve since gone on to win many other awards for their music, and have become one of the most popular bands in Germany, and around the world.
Happy New Year to fans all over the world, from everyone here at THUKST. For those of you who’ve had a great 2011, we hope 2012 will be just as amazing for you. And for those of you who have had a difficult year, we really hope that 2012 will bring you some happier times.
We also hope, of course, that the guys are having a great time, whatever they are doing! And we hope to see them all in 2012!
We apologize for the recent absence of our website. Our host has been having some technical issues, but we hope we’re back for good this time! Thanks for your patience, and if you’re still experiencing any problems please let us know by emailing us at
