In February 2011 Tokio Hotel performed “Darkside of the Sun” in Japan for NHK Overseas which was broadcasted on 27th December 2011. Thanks to 619 from TH China for the recording:
Russian Muz TV reported about the twin tattoo Bill and Tom got a little while ago. Each of them had the other’s birth time tattooed. The footage was taken from the BTK Twins app which you can get from the Android Market.
Thanks to the girls from THNews.ru for the recording and subtitles.
As most of you will remember Tokio Hotel’s awesome “Welcome to Humanoid City” tour stage was designed by Misty Buckley so it’s not surprising that parts of the stage were built in the UK. One of the iconic pieces from this tour was definitely the motorbike Bill got to sit on and dance around during “Dogs Unleashed”. The Bristol based company “Fineline Manufacturing” built it and on their website you can look at some pictures accompanied by the following text:
Tokio Hotel is a pop rock band from Germany, founded in 2001 by singer Bill Kaulitz. Through our many music industry contacts we were approached by the stage designer to produce a stage prop based on a motorcycle for Bill to sit on for the climax of their current worldwide tour.
We were given some initial concept ideas and were told it had to be jet propelled and look like something from ‘Batman meets Judge Dread’ but the most important thing was it had to be very light weight as it was to be raised up through the stage on a lift and could be no more that 50Kg .
The whole chassis was fabricated in house and we assembled most of the bike from scrap parts we found and added some sculpted parts such as the jet engine. A final metallic paint effect and the prop was ready to tour the world!
Hey everyone, as promised we can now announce all the winners of our big Christmas lottery! We want to thank all of you who took part. We’re really sorry to everyone who wasn’t one of our winners this time, but we’re happy that quite a few of you are! So, lets get started!
All of the winners won by a draw, or an outright win, as explained in our main competition post.
MAIN PRIZE – No one found more than one member of the band so the draw was between everyone who found one member (Bill #9, Tom #5, Georg #32 and Gustav #34). And the winner is ..
NAILAH A.
Congratulations Nailah! If you want to check out exactly what you’ve won you can find the details on our main competition post HERE.

German Yahoo discovered one of the videos Bill and Tom recorded for their BTK Twins app and posted it to their Lifestyle section with a rather lovely text. Though they didn’t realise the video is part of the mobile phone app, they picked up on the fan favourite “weally, weally”. Unfortuntely most of the comments are as unpleasant as we’re used to from the general German public but that’s nothing new and Yahoo’s kind words make up for it.^^
Translation:
Cute Christmas greetings from Tokio Hotel
Bill and Tom Kaulitz are running “weally, weally“ late with getting their gifts. So the two of them still have to make it through the entire Christmas monsoon to be home and dry with their presents. Despite all of this consumption stress they still had enough time to greet their fans in a Youtube-video and to ask them what presents they’d be giving. Definitely pay attention to Bill’s cute pronunciation!

Tokio Hotel have been nominated in the 2011 German magazine’s Bravo Otto category for “Best Super Band Rock/Pop”. You can vote for them (once) until 27th December 2011 and the competition is tough. Please make sure to cast your vote because every single one counts.^^
Go HERE, put your tick next to the band’s picture in the list, scroll down and click “Abstimmen”.
Edit: The “BTK Twins” app is now available for Android users HERE. Apple users still have to be patient because it’s not available in the Apple store yet due to the holidays.
Check out Tom’s Blog for another little teaser for the BTK App that will be launched … at some point this week.^^
Some of you will probably have noticed that the countdown on the official Tokio Hotel website has slightly changed again but well, when has a Tokio Hotel related countdown ever worked like a normal countdown? XD Their countdowns have always proven to be more like a guideline for an actual launch time just like “soon” has its own meaning in the TH world.
“We’ll be there soon.”
