OMAs – Fan Army Manifestos: Tokio Hotel’s “Aliens”

June 20th, 2012 - General News, Voting

Update: Click on the comments if you can’t watch the video in your country because Australian fan Emma was kind enough to post a transcript of what the fans are saying in the video. Thanks, Emma!

MTV interviewed some of Tokio Hotel’s fans and put together a video (which sadly doesn’t seem to be viewable for us). The article said:

After two straight cycles of completely trouncing their competition for the O Music Award for Fan Army FTW, Tokio Hotel’s Aliens are back, their aching, spasming clicking fingers nearly bleeding into the cracks of their keyboards for all the voting they’ve been doing. Can they remain victorious for the third time in a row? Well, according to the cadre of Aliens that we interviewed, they’re pretty confident that their troops will prevail.

With only 8 days left to vote the end is getting close. Please keep voting and max out your 500 votes per day limit whenever possible!

    I think whether the video can be viewed or not may possibly depend on what country you’re in. I’m in Australia and I can see it fine but I thought, if you’re interested, that you might want the transcript of it. Note: All of the fans in the video are girls. Also, they talk individually with it cross-cutting to each fan as she talks. So here’s the script and I hope there’s not too many mistakes:

    MTV Video Transcript

    *Intro with various fans floating across the screen saying, “I’m an Alien.”*

    Fan #1: “To be in the Alien fan army is really great. We have such an intensity.”

    Fan #2: “Everything is Tokio Hotel. I actually make birthday cakes for the guys.”

    Fan#3: “I listen to them every day like a drug.”

    Fan #1: “I know some girls that have just not gone to school for a few weeks because they’re off following the band when they’re on tours.”

    Fan #4: [Holds up large square pillow with Bill’s face on it] “It’s Bill’s face and this is what I sleep on at night.”

    Fan #5: “I went to Berlin, Germany, just to see his [Bill’s] wax figure. [Holds up photograph of her and wax figure of Bill Kaulitz] I almost picked him up and took him home but I couldn’t do that ‘cause I’d go to jail.”

    Fan #4: [Wearing a black shirt with the words ‘Ich Liebe Bill’ painted on in pink] “It’s ‘I love Bill’ in German.”

    Fan #2: “I know every single song in German.”

    Fan #6: “Ich liebe dich, Tokio Hotel!”

    Fan #7: “Tokio Hotel ist mein lieblingsband.”

    Fan #2: “Tokio Hotel is die beste…” (Note: Sorry, my exceptionally bad understanding of German only took me that far).

    ===You have to Scream===

    Fan #2: “The live shows are amazing.”

    Fan voiceover: “The energy is crazy.”

    Fan #1: “The screaming is through the roof.”

    Fan #6: “They splash water at their fans from bottles.”

    Fan #1: “I got Bill’s water bottle. Bill had a really bad cold, I got really, really sick.”

    Fan#6: “Fans go crazy for it.”

    Fan #1: “It was definitely worth it to say that I’ve swapped spit with Bill.”

    ===You keep dreams alive===

    Fan #1 “Each song generally revolves around never giving up and believing in yourself.”

    Fan #5: “They write lyrics you can relate to. They’re great and they’re different.”

    Fan #2 “They have the ‘I don’t care’ attitude.”

    Fan #6: “I was sixteen. I was really depressed. I felt like I was the only one. They helped me break out of that shell.”

    Fan #8: “Before I was really shy.”

    Fan #2: “I’m outgoing, I’m loud. I scream, I yell. I love to be funny.”

    Fan #9: “When I’m having a bad day, I know I can find a song off one of the CDs I have. I listen to this song – done – I feel better.”

    ===You are a voting machine===

    Fan #6: “This is the third year we are nominated for the best fan base.”

    Fan #1: “I know girls that just stay up all night voting, voting, voting, voting, voting.”

    Fan #5: “Your finger gets tired of clicking those things. I would say this one [holds up her right index finger] is stronger than this one [holds up her left index finger] just ‘cause this is the one that I click [wags right finger].

    Fan voiceover: “So Tokio Hotel is definitely ready for the voting again this year.”

    Fan #5: “We cannot be defeated. We always win.”

    Fan #1: “We will stop at nothing.”

    Fan #2: “Vote for the Aliens.”

    Fan #5: “Vote for the Aliens.”

    Fan #9: “Vote for the Aliens. We’ll amaze, three years running.”

    Fan #3: “Vote for the Aliens.”

    Aww thanks, Emma! :D Really appreciate you sharing a transcript so we know what was said.
    It really seems to depend on what country you’re in. The Canadian FC also tweeted that they can’t watch the video. Seems an indicator that we won’t be able to follow the livestream of the awards show again. It’s a shame that such an international voting contest can’t seem to make it available for all the countries to watch but the main thing is that Tokio Hotel and their Aliens win the “Fan Army FTW” award again *keep voting everyone* and we’ll find out soon enough thanks to the likes of Twitter etc where fans that can watch it, spread the news right away.^^
    Thanks again for the transcript!
    Love the comment from fan #5 about her right index finger being stronger than the left one. XD
