Another of yesterday’s RTL reports about the DSDS judges. It’s funny to finally see how the tattoo talk between Tom and Mateo came about.^^

Roberta Bieling (presenter): Da sind wir wieder. Pop-Titan trifft Teenie-Idole. Kann das gut gehen? Das haben sich viele vor dem ersten gemeinsamen Arbeitstag der neuen DSDS-Jury gestern gefragt. Dieter Bohlen und die Zwillinge von Tokio Hotel sind sich tatsächlich am Jury-Pult zum ersten Mal begegnet. Warum Dieter seine neuen Kollegen da gleich mal auf die Schippe genommen hat und was Bill und Tom in ihrem neuen Job jetzt gerne wollen? Simon E. und Christina G. haben alles miterlebt.
We’re back again. Pop [music] titan meets teen idols. Will this go well? Many people asked themselves [that question] prior to the new DSDS judging panel’s first work day together yesterday. In fact Dieter Bohlen and the twins from Tokio Hotel really met for the first time at the judges’ desk. Why Dieter had to poke fun at his new colleagues straight away and what it is that Bill and Tom would really want to get out of their new job now. Simon E. and Christina G. have witnessed it all.
Voice-over: Aufmarsch des neuen DSDS-Männerquartetts. Erster Arbeitstag, erstes Aufeinandertreffen und klar, da muss Platzhirsch Dieter Bohlen Neuling Bill Kaulitz erst mal beschnuppern.
Arrival of DSDS’ new male quartet. [Itis their] first work day, first encounter and sure thing, first of all top dog Dieter Bohlen has to sniff at newcomer Bill Kaulitz.
*Subtitles*
Bohlen *sniffing at Bill’s neck*: “What is that then? Smells good!“
Voice-over: Beste Voraussetzungen also. Optisch allerdings liegen der Pop-Titan und die Band mit dem Manga-Style ganz offensichtlich nicht so ganz auf einer Wellelänge.
So [they’re] off to a good start. However, clearly the pop [music] titan and the band with the manga style are not on quite the same wavelength visually speaking.
Dieter: Ich hab’ ja so was auch zu Hause. Also, ja nur als Teppich.
I’ve also got something like that at home. Well yeah, only [difference is] that it’s a carpet.
*Bill laughing*
Bill *laughing*: Ich dachte, ich komm’ halt zum ersten Tag mal ’n bisschen schlicht, ne? Ich hab’ die verrückten Outfits im Schrank gelassen.
I thought I’d just turn up a little plainly dressed for the first day, right? I’ve left the crazy outfits in the wardrobe.
*Dieter laughing*
Voice-over: Klare Vorstellungen von ihrem Job haben die beiden allerdings schon mitgebracht und auch eine Idee vom potentiellen neuen Superstar.
However, both of them brought along a clear notion of their job and also an idea of the potential new superstar.
Bill: Ich geh’ eigentlich davon aus, dass wir sofort auch merken, wenn gute Kandidaten dastehen und, und wenn das Potential da is’. Erm, und ich muss sagen, erm, insgeheim hoffe ich, dass es gute Frauen gibt dieses Jahr.
Actually I’m assuming that we’ll immediately realise it when there are good candidates before us and when there is potential. Erm, secretly I’m hoping that there will be good women this year.
Voice-over: Und die Damen dürften vor der allerersten reinen Männerjury eigentlich ganz gute Chancen haben. Wenn, ja, wenn es ihnen vor lauter Nervosität nicht die Stimme verschlägt.
And the ladies should be in with rather good chances when facing the very first all male judging panel. That’s if, yes, if they’re not left without their voice due to all the nervousness.
Brunette girl: Echt cool. Ganz nett. Erm, hätte ich nie gedacht, wirklich. Also, wow… toll. Wirklich.
Really cool. Quite nice. Erm, I would’ve never guessed, really. So, wow… great. Really.
Blonde girl: Früher war ich eigentlich mal Tokio Hotel-Fan und ich hab’ sie scho-… Ich hab’ schon lange nichts mehr von ihnen in den Medien gehört und jetzt hab’ ich dich… hab’ ich sie jetzt gerade auf dem Bildschirm bei DSDS gesehen.
In the past I actually used to be a Tokio Hotel fan and I haven’t… I haven’t heard anything about them in the media for a long time and now I’ve seen you… I’ve seen them on the DSDS screen just now.
Voice-over: Und bei allem Fremdeln, auch Dieter Bohlen sagt, „Tokio Hotel: Die hätt’ ich auch gern entdeckt.“
And with all the shyness with strangers, even Dieter Bohlen says “Tokio Hotel: I would’ve also loved to have discovered them.”
Dieter: Die beiden… wären die zu DSDS damals gekommen, hätten die gar nich’ singen brauchen. Ich hätte die so weiter gelassen und das ist auch meine Meinung.
Those two… they wouldn’t have had to sing if they had come to DSDS back then. I would’ve put them through just like that and that’s also my opinion.
Voice-over: Selbst Culcha Candela-Frontmann, Mateo, Vierter im Jury-Bund, ist ganz fasziniert von seinen neuen Kollegen, Bill und Tom.
Even Culcha Candela front man Mateo, the forth one of the judges bunch, is quite fascinated by his new colleagues, Bill and Tom.
Mateo: Ich kann mich gar nicht satt gucken an den Jungs. Es fällt mir schwer in die Kamera zu, zu glotzen. Ich will eigentlich lieber gerne, erm, Styling-Tipps austauschen. Erm, oder über Tattoos mich unterhalten, ja?
I can’t get enough of looking at the guys. I’m finding it hard to stare into the camera. I’d actually rather, erm, exchange styling advice. Erm, or talk about tattoos, right?
Tom: Hast du welche?
Have you got some?
Mateo: Na, klar! Nee. Du?
For sure! Nah. You?
*starting to talk about each other’s tattoos*
Voice-over: Zum Quatschen wird’s vermutlich noch genug Gelegenheit geben und ob Dieter und Bill irgendwann vielleicht sogar Klamotten tauschen. Das sehen Sie in der zehnten DSDS-Staffel. Aber leider erst ab Januar.
There’ll probably be more than enough opportunities to chat and maybe Dieter and Bill will even swap clothes some day. That’s to see in the tenth DSDS season. Though, unfortunately [it] only starts in January.
