This week started with a few more interview bits of the twins talking about their new role as “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” judges. Here is the translation for the RTL Punkt 6 report broadcasted on 1st October 2012.

Guy: … DSDS-Jury sind Bill und Tom Kaulitz wieder voll im Rampenlicht, aber was wird denn jetzt eigentlich aus Tokio Hotel?
Bill and Tom Kaulitz are fully back in the spotlight [with the] DSDS judging panel but what is to become of Tokio Hotel for that matter now?
Woman: Hm, schon seit Monaten gibt es da ja so Gerüchte, die Band habe sich längst getrennt. Jetzt aber sprechen Bill und Tom und sagen was da dran ist und warum sie vor zwei Jahren Deutschland verlassen haben.
Hm, for months there have been rumours that the band had broken up long ago. However, now Bill and Tom are talking and say whether there’s something to it and why they left Germany two years ago.
Guy: Ja, Anne T. und Miriam K. mit überraschenden Aussagen für alle Fans.
Yes, [here are] Anne T. and Miriam K. with surprising statements for all the fans.
Voice-over: Keine Jungs mehr, sondern Männern. Tom und Bill Kaulitz sind zurück in der Heimat. DSDS sei Dank.

Tom: Irgendwann ist es ja auch super eigentlich mal wieder nach Deutschland zu kommen und hier was zu machen. Erm, und… erm… Ja, deswegen…
Sometime it’s actually also super to come to Germany again and to be doing something here. Erm, and… erm… Well yes, therefore…
Bill: Und vor allem wollten wir schon immer mal, also, auch junge Talente angucken und neue Künstler sehen und so. Hatten da eigentlich schon immer Lust drauf.
And above all we’ve also always wanted to, well, look at young talents and watch new artists and so on. Actually [we] have always fancied doing this.
Voice-over: Wird ja auch langsam Zeit, dass sie die beiden mal wieder blicken lassen, denn die letzten zwei Jahre war’s ganz schön still um die Tokio Hotel-Brüder. 2010, auf dem Höhepunkt ihres Erfolgs, zog sich die Band plötzlich zurück. Keine Musik mehr, keine Interviews. Die vier Magdeburger Jungs hatten genug.
After all, it’s about time that the two of them show their faces again because things have been rather quiet around the Tokio Hotel brothers for the past two years. The band suddenly withdrew at the peak of their success in 2010. No more music, no more interviews. The four guys from Magdeburg had enough.
Tom: Wir waren ja irgendwie fünf Jahre non-stop auf Tour und unterwegs und erm… Irgendwann kam der Punkt, dass wir gesagt haben „So wir müssen mal jetzt irgendwas… wir wollen einfach mal irgend ‘ne Pause haben, was anderes machen.“ Und vor allem auch mal irgendwie so’n Zuhause-Gefühl haben irgendwie. Dass man ‘n Haus hat wo man nach Hause kommt und sagt „Hier wohnen wir jetzt.“
After all, we somehow were on tour and on the road non-stop for five years and erm… Some day we reached the point when we said “Right, now we just have to […] something… we just want to have a break, [and] do something different.” And above all to have some kind of an at-home feeling for once. To have a house where you get home to and say “Here is where we’re living now.”
Voice-over: „Hier“: das war und ist für die eineiigen Zwillinge Bill und Tom die US-Metropole Los Angeles. Mit gutem Grund.
„Here“: to the identical twins Bill and Tom that was and is the US metropolis Los Angeles. For a good reason.
Tom: LA vor allem, weil wir, erm, einfach produzieren wollten und weil wir da, glaube ich, am ehesten unsere Ruhe gefunden haben schnell. Also, das war in Europa ‘n bisschen schwierig.
Mainly LA because we, erm, just wanted to produce and because I think, we were most likely to find some peace quicker there. Meaning, that was a bit difficult in Europe.
Bill: Ja. Viele Leute sind ja immer so und denken dann so „Ah, die sind ja erst 23. Wie können die denn irgendwie, erm, da zwei Jahre sich zurückziehen?“ Erm…
Yes. Many people are always like this and then think “Ah, they’re only 23. How can they somehow, erm, withdraw themselves for two years?” Erm…
Tom: Aber wir haben ja mit 15 angefangen.

Voice-over: Doch die Pause hat ihren Preis. Immer wieder heißt es Tokio Hotel habe sich längst aufgelöst. Selbst jetzt wollen die Gerüchte nicht verstummen, aber „Alles Unsinn.“ sagen die Brüder.
However, the break came at a cost. Time and again it’s reported that Tokio Hotel broke up a long time ago. Even now the rumours don’t want to die down but “All of that is rubbish.” the brothers say.
Tom: Nee, nee, wir sind nur zu zweit in der Jury, aber wir haben… Nee, nee, Georg und Gustav sind auch dabei. Die, die sind in Deutschland wohnen geblieben, aber die sind dabei wieder. Die kommen nach LA, wir sind zwischendurch in Deutschland.
Nope, nope, it’s only the two of us on the judging panel but we’ve got… Nope, nope, Georg and Gustav are also around. They, they continued living in Germany but they’re around again. They come over to LA, [and] we’re in Germany from time to time.
Voice-over: Von wegen Schaffenspause also. Am nächsten Tokio Hotel-Album wird längst gearbeitet.
So, creative break. As if. Work on the next Tokio Hotel album has already started.
Bill: Wir war’n jetzt auch die letzte Zeit halt super viel im Studio und haben auch gearbeitet. Es ist nicht so, dass wir uns den ganzen Tag irgendwie uns nur entspannt haben, aber natürlich auch. Also, wir haben natürlich ganz bewusst auch ‘n bisschen Pause gemacht und entspannt.
Lately we’ve also just spent loads of time in the studio and have also been working. It’s not as if we’d only been relaxing all day long somehow but of course [we’ve] also [done] that. Meaning, we’ve also deliberately been taking a bit of a break and relaxed.
Voice-over: Mit Entspannung ist es jetzt aber vorbei. Als Mitglieder der DSDS-Jury wollen sich Tom und Bill nämlich richtig reinhängen. Gerade laufen die Castings. Für die Zwillinge eine echte Herausforderung.
However, the relaxation time is over now. Tom and Bill really want being members of the DSDS judging panel give it their all. Currently the castings are happening. A real challenge for the twins.
Bill: Das ist schon anstrengend, auf jeden Fall. Also, wir sehen echt viele Leute auch. Macht aber natürlich total Spaß.
It‘s definitely rather exhausting. Meaning, we really also see loads of people. However, of course it’s also totally fun.

Es sieht also ganz so aus als ob Bill und Tom erst mal tatsächlich daheim in Deutschland bleiben.
