Hello, hello…!
As we promised you we’re having a little special day on our website today because it’s the three year anniversary of the Tokio Hotel concert in London at the Carling Academy Islington.
We know many of you couldn’t be there and things haven’t been brilliant for the UK ever since but let’s not dwell on this for now. Let’s have some fun today and enjoy the quirks and excitement of that day.
THUKST was only a newborn back then, only a few weeks old, it was exam time for most of the UK fans and also a time of some of the heaviest rainfall *feel free to insert a Monsoon joke* that year, so that fans travelling from the North could be happy if their trains to London weren’t cancelled. So much excitement and the show itself? It was sweaty! Yes, that’s probably one of the things most fans still remember from it. But of course it wasn’t only that. It was a milestone for the band because it was also their first full-length concert they would perform with English songs. Just imagine the nerves! XD They did so well!
To get to the venue, the fans had to get off at Angel tube station and were greeted by some huge Angel wings. Aren’t they pretty?
The venue was in a shopping centre and queuing happened near a Monsoon shop. That definitely added to the Tokio Hotel feeling and there were many curious people stopping… even if they only thought all the fans were queuing for some really good sale! *lol*
We hope you enjoy our trip down memory lane…
Let’s start with a few random pictures of the concert.

More memories coming soon, so stay tuned!
